LARSyS Annual Meeting 2018

The 2018 LARSyS Annual Meeting was a success!

For two full days researchers from ISR, IN+, M-ITI and Maretec gathered at Pavilhão do Conhecimento to exchange knowledge and debate future challenges and opportunities.

The Associate Laboratory of Robotics and Engineering Systems (LARSyS) brings together nearly 400 researchers from four Research and Development units. This year’s two-day reunion allowed more than one hundred of them to engage in interdisciplinary debates about current and future aspects in robotics and systems engineering, as well as these field’s societal implications.

The aim of the meeting was to foster the scientific culture of all those involved in specific research areas, be them university students, Professors or industry professionals. The program was jam-packed with Thematic Sessions organized by the Laboratories research lines – Ocean, Urban,  Air, Life and Interaction – Poster Teaser Sessions in which the researchers had a couple of minutes to quickly showcase their work and the following Mingling and Interactive Sessions, where researchers could learn more about each other’s work while having some refreshments. The event also had dynamic sessions with guests from the industry, representing several companies and spinoffs: Farfetch, Galp, Talkdesk, 3Drivers, Hidromod, idMind, Agora Systems, CEIIA, A-to-Be, Luz-Saúde and Tekever.

Take a look at some of what went on during all these vibrant activities by checking the LARSyS Flickr here or explore the recently live website of the Associated Laboratory, for more information.
