Industry Visitors & Events: Forging strong partnerships

As ISR-Lisboa continues to forge ahead in its quest for innovation and societal impact, these collaborative endeavors underscore its unwavering commitment to driving positive change through transformative research initiatives.
Over at ISR-Lisboa we are embarking on a mission to bolster collaboration with Portuguese companies and international partners, aiming to spearhead transformative projects that positively impact human and societal systems. This strategic endeavor has seen a surge of interest from various enterprises and institutions, flocking to ISR’s research facilities in pursuit of innovative solutions.
Recently we played host to a delegation from Harbin Engineering University, China, showcasing the institute’s prowess in marine robotics. Led by President Pedro Lima with important contributions by Prof. António Pascoal and by Prof. Pedro Batista, the visit provided an insightful glimpse into ISR’s research endeavors, particularly within the domain of DSORg, while offering a comprehensive overview of ISR’s multifaceted activities.
Moreover, ISR-Lisboa extended a warm welcome to representatives from the AED Cluster Portugal, comprising stakeholders from the Aeronautics, Space, and Defense sectors. Although some members had previous collaborations with ISR researchers, the visit fostered vibrant discussions, paving the way for promising future partnerships.
In addition to hosting visitors, ISR-Lisboa has proactively engaged in several industry events, showcasing its technological prowess on a global platform. Notably, the institute made its presence felt at the “Lessons Learned” NATO Conference, underscoring its commitment to crafting technology-driven solutions to address contemporary societal challenges.
Further fortifying its collaborative network, Técnico recently sealed a partnership agreement with BRISA, as the 26th member of the esteemed Técnico Partner Network. This strategic alliance, facilitated by Técnico, will encompass the co-development of research and development (R&D) projects, alongside the provision of scholarships for master’s and doctoral students. At a school-wide event, ISR researcher Meysam Basiri showcased the myriad research possibilities, elucidating the potential for groundbreaking innovation.
As ISR-Lisboa continues to forge ahead in its quest for innovation and societal impact, these collaborative endeavors underscore its unwavering commitment to driving positive change through transformative research initiatives.
