Visit from Prof. Gong Ke | Research in AI in China

ISR | Lisboa recently hosted Prof. Gong Ke, Executive Director of the Chinese Institute for New Generation Artificial Intelligence Development Strategies. The meeting, attended by President Pedro Lima and ISR researchers, centered around Nankai University's history in robotics and AI partnerships.
ISR | Lisboa hosted an esteemed researcher in the global artificial intelligence arena. Professor Gong Ke, the Executive Director of the Chinese Institute for New Generation Artificial Intelligence Development Strategies, has an illustrious track record steering the ship at WFEO and championing AI development. President Pedro Lima, alongside leading ISR researchers Alexandre Bernardino, João Sanches, José Santos-Victor, and João Pedro Gomes, warmly welcomed Gong Ke to  ISR | Lisboa. The convergence of these minds set the stage for a deep dive into the realms of AI, robotics, and the challenges that lie ahead.
Nankai University, with its rich history in robotics and extensive AI partnerships, was a focal point of discussion. The visit was a vibrant exchange of ideas on applications in marine robotics, autonomous driving, and the myriad of challenges entwined with AI development. The visit culminated in a tour of ISR’s advanced research labs, as the guests were treated to firsthand glimpses of cutting-edge projects and state-of-the-art facilities.

Principal Investigator Margarida Silveira highlighted the significance of craters for understanding Mars’ geology.
